that site was ok.....one thing I did hate though......everytime I looked at other ppl's rides all I ever saw was nothing but rice......pisses me off how ppl can be so stupid and put useless crap on their cars
Right, that's a GREAT reason not to miss the site (sarcasm).....name another site that even HAS setups pictures
Hondaprelude.com was a fantastic site, and was around WAY before honda-tech.com.....I owe a lot of my knowledge from several years ago to some of the original guys on that site (I was one of the originals too, member 128 or something like that)...
Sad to see it go

i can't claim to be an original member, but i was a member since dec. of 2000. less than a week after i bought my Prelude. i stumbled across it one day while screwing around adn i never left. never posted much, but read A LOT. i loved the articles. i even used the one about the ZEX nitrous install when I installed mine. damn I'm gonna mis that site :sniff: :tear:
It's a shame - I was one of the original members (joined back in early 99). I know Chris sunk a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and money into that site. When I had my 'lude and was a member, I sent money every time he 'passed the hat'. The really irksome thing to me was people who posted pissing and moaning about being asked to kick in $5 or $10 to help defray costs of operation. I thought he did an admirable job w/ content...

yea....i wondered how long it would take someone to post on that......and its sad......although i didnt agree with every mod on every prelude posted on there....it was nice to check out thee other ludes and find out what has been done so you could allow yourself some sense of originality........it was a good site.......sorry to see it go.......especially since it was made in honor of our car
Well if any one wants to host pics of their car, and information about it.. just go to my website and click members... fill in the info and i will add you to the list .. (once I get off my ***)
I can do that too.. since I have an articles and tech page on my site...
(only one thing on them right now)
But if some one has tech articles send them to me.. I will host it..

It's really really sad to see this happen. I feel really bad for Chris and his debt. I commend him for the time, money, and desire he put into the site over the years
Now honda-tech just needs to get back its Car Directory

I am already on here. I have only ever posted on the road racing forum where most of the guys running the road racing series I run (Honda Challenge) post. I am sad to see the site go and especially so for the members that contributed articles, money, time, expertise etc.
I have never been much into the gangster slang talk but I have to say that the term "hater" is perfect for people like satan_srv. It is these kinds of people that I will not miss dealing with at all. You bust your *** for several years and sink tons of time and money into building a site that has features found on few if any others on the net. Yet people who must have meaningless lives have to constantly make snide remarks or comment how they "post there the least." Why bother? I am glad that my life is not so meaningless that I have to try to tear down the accomplishments of others.

Dude I like your site, it's the people there that put me off from it. It's not your fault, I don't think my opinion makes me a hater, you can't help who posts on your site....I certainly appreciate everything you did.
Give me your paypal account...I'll send you money, even though you flamed me without asking what I meant by my post.

Chris man, I loved the sight.... i cherished the site...... i hate to see it go. i would have greatly donated money to the sight had i had the funds to help you. the only bad thing was the few people that WERE willing to donate had to make up for the majority that weren't. If we had ALL just donated a couple dollars a year the sight would still be running strong. I'll admit, i should have donated a lil more, i think i gave like $10 one time, but i always thought "my 2 bucks isn't gonna matter" but then again if everyone gave 2 bucks, you would have had extra money for the sight. I almost cryed when i went to go check the message boards this morning and it was gone. I immediately started making phone calls.
But, alas, i guess it wasn't meant to last. We shall remember and cherish the memories of hondaprelude.com as well as the Honda Prelude itself. Now we lay them down, side by side, may they both rest in peace.

Careful. Unless the authors choose to donate them they are copyrighted.
I'll miss HP.com a lot. Chris provided us all with a great source of information, a place to talk crap with other owners, and a place to encourage each other in getting the Prelude into motorsports, whatever your thing is. Helped get me into autocross. Sad to see it go, happy it was around in the first place. Chris definitely did more than his part for us.

I'll still be sportin' my hondaprelude.com shirt around town
Anyways Chris, your site influenced the lives of a huge number of import (honda prelude) enthusiests like myself in a very positive way, and for that you should get a medal or something
I wish the best for you and your roadracing career!
The whole import industry is in sad shape right now.....good sites like yours going down due to lack of support, vendors whoring out parts for cheap and barely making any money (makes owning a shop difficult), and a bunch of lamers who want something for nothing and seem to think they know what they're talking about. I hope the situation starts to get better before it gets worse.....

That was a great site. Glad to see Chris is on this site. Hope to see many more posts from him. Maybe he would be interested in becoming a Moderator on one of the forums here.
Also, I hope to see posts from highmileage. His name is also Chris, and has Prelude with over 300,000 miles.

****, I kind of feel like somebody turned the lights off on me...... That site is the VERY REASON that I still own my 91 Si, and it has saved me thousands of dollars since early 2000 when I first became a member. I wish that it didn't go totally turn key off, but I understand Chris' reasons for doing it. Thanks for all of your effort and dedication Chris, a great many people will always appreciate that.
I don't know that honda-tech.com would really appreciate talk about how to revive the site. Sorry to the mods. I am already talking to an ISP that has offered to host the site for free. Things are not hopeless. It will in all likelihood be completely down for a number of months though. I am just not going to launch another project like that until I have a graphics artist, development help and a solid idea of how to run the site in the black. We'll be back though. Probably as prelude.nmotion.com though. I have always wanted to build a network of auto sites under that nmotion.com domain.
Great to hear that it may come back someday Chris. I hate to see such an amazing and comprehensive car site die forever. The only thing it was missing was a chat room.
P.S. expect a "post donation" via Pay Pal soon, thanks for all of your hard work and effort.
