remote start with clutch bypass question
so i installed a viper 791xv w/ remote start in my 91 civic today, err yesterday now i suppose, and everything is working as it should. but i have a question..
Is it possible to bypass the clutch, but to only do so while using the remote start? i want it setup so that i still have to press down the clutch to start the car while i'm in it, just not during the remote start. seems kind of unnecessary i know, and it works fine as is (clutch switch always grounded), i just want to make it operate as much like stock is possible.
by grounding the one wire (forget the color now) off of the clutch switch it allows the car to start without the pedal being depressed. so i searched through the manual to see if there was any wire that would create a ground for the clutch switch, but only do so during remote start, and no other time.
this wire seemed most promising. its in the H3 remote start secondary harness. H3/1 blue/white (-) status ouput.
"This wire supplies a 200mA output as soon as the module begins the remote start process. It can be used with a relay to disconnect a sensor from the system as shown below. The H3/1 BLUE wire can also be used to rearm a factory anti-theft system when the remote start shuts down."
i hooked this up to the clutch switch in hopes that it would provide a ground during and only during remote start, to allow a temporary bypass of the clutch switch. to my dismay it didn't work. i'm wondering if since its only a 200mA output, if that has to do with it. perhaps if i ran it through a relay and then allowed the switch to ground itself directly to the chassis it would work? i'm not sure, i haven't tried this yet. (it was getting late and cold lol).
if that wire won't work is there maybe a wire i can use that is +12v only during the remote start procedure, and i could use it with a relay to provide a ground for the clutch switch?

Question, why would you install a remote start for automatic transmission cars only in a car with a standard transmission?
Or did you do it correctly and add a "for manual transmission module"?
If so, then yes, use the status output lead and connect it to the output of the CIS, it will supply the starter relay with the ground it needs. 94
