i used one once but you have to use the plug from the donor car, because it is different from the 88-91 one. what i did was de-pin the old plug and put the wires in the new plug in the same order, it never failed on me. ever. i recommend this to any EFer

they can still fail. the 88-91 main relays suck. even if you resolder them you still risk failure again.

so is it pretty straight forward all the colors match up, or you need a wiring diagram?

I would get the wiring diagrams, go to honda-hookup.com and download the shop manuals.

Oh yeah, the wiring in the chassis has not changed, regardless if you are running your motor of a OBD1 car, you would still need a EF relay.

If the plug is the same (Theres center and offset) it will work. All the main relays are pretty much the same inside.

Or rewire it if you feel like you have no other option.

the plugs are not the same, but they use the same wires, so just match up the wires between plugs when you change them out and you will be good to go. when you look at them side by side it makes sense.

They fail in EGs too.
Thinking it's a common problem across the board with Honda.

or basically in anything because its the heat and vibration that causes the connections to break on the PCB.
so i guess its an all around problem lol
