my accorde has been sputtering for months. Never when its cold and never when its flat out. Its tuned and has good gas but I have never quite been able to figure out why it does this.

This morning I was under the car looking for an exhaust leak. my head was more or less under the O filter and as i looked up i could see a sensor of some kind with one of the wires ripped out of the plug. it sits a bit farther back then the filter and bit to the passenger side.

2 questions

what is this?

and could it cause my honda to sputter when its warm?

i think its a 2.2 engine. its not the original so who knows. Its holding fluid , just changed the radiator and the upper heater hose about a month ago. no check engine light or any indication of a blown gasket or cracked head. the oil is nice and clean and the exhaust is clear. the car has 200k miles but there is no telling about the engine. i looked for cracked vac lines but diddnt find any. plugs , cap , rotor , wires and both filters are all new. did the gumout several times and used name brand gas , no differance.

the car runs fine until it warms up but it dosent stall , just kind of shudders and shakes when i dont floor it. im really not a mechanic but i can do the basic stuff but this stumps me and i hope i gave you enough to work with. this btw has gotten worse over the last 6 months. it started very slight and now if i stroke the pedal and eyeball the tach i can see it studder as well as hear it. the car also has a new coil , lost the ignitor and got the junk dist but i got the coil first

 

Im on the same issue does ur car sputter only after like a few miles down the road?

 

We are all on the same boat... but this is what ive done to my car so u know what not to change gas regulator, tps sensor and connections, catalytic converter,distributor and distributor cap,buttons plugs, ecu, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned egr ports, and someone suggeested a o2 sensor sounds about right with all the symptoms so im trying that next and ill get back asap.
