I was beginning to do research about swaing those gars into an H22 tranny with stronger syncros. I wanted to see if it might be more cost effective to buy a used one and rebuild with new syncros or to buy a new one and live with the stock syncros for 60K - 80K miles

where are you buying a new euro-r transmission?
chances are wherever you're getting that from (honda) will have the replacement parts

new ones will be rather expensive... There was one guy on H-T, who I helped with Accord Type R tranny parts (basically the same like Euro R) and he spent quite a lot money on it. The parts were brand new.
