Default Tranny oil on the clutch. damit.

me & my friend went through hell getting the tranny on the block and so we sat the block up and put it on like that. and oil came out of the whole where the axles go and some got onto my new clutch. do i have to take the clutch back off and clean it?

and what will happen if i start it like this and try driving? will it dry up? it wasn't much.

brake clean... if you dont clean it the clutch will slip....
but its a good idea to clean off any clutch before you put it in, just because if you touch it with your figures, the oil may cause it to slip..

if you run that clutch like that it's going to slip, no two ways about it.

take it out and clean it with something real strong to get rid of that oil... also wtf are you doing putting oil in the trans before it's even back on the car???? there's your first problem. idk why you had so much trouble getting the trans on... did you line the clutch up properly? its pretty easy and usually theres alot of room to work on these cars (engine bay wise)

exactly... just like you don't want to get oil or your oily fingers on a rotor before you install it, and you are supposed to clean them first so that there is nothing slippery on it. and as oil would be bad on rotor it would be pretty bad on a clutch
