Strange noise from engine
I have an '01 civic lx. D17A1, I believe. Last Friday, when I went to work everything was fine. This morning on my way to college, I notice a wierd grinding noise from the engine. At first I though something was rubbing on one of my tires, but I couldn't find anything. Only after I got to school and revved it to about 2k, did I hear the sound again. I haven't had a chance to look in the engine, yet. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any ideas on where to start looking. I'm going to try an figure it out before I have to head to work (since it's about a 40 mile drive). Here's the info about my car:
2001 Honda Civic LX
stock motor
AEM Cold Air Intake
Tokico HP suspension
Gel Battery (in trunk)
Irridium plugs
Any ideas? I've got about an hour before classes are over and I'm going to go look at the engine.
Thanks for any assistance!

is it metal on metal sounding? i'd say that if your CEL doesn't go off then you're fine.. but i would try to keep it at lower rpm's until you find out exactly what it is!
have u checked your transmission fluid lately? it could just be low. and if that isn't it and the sound is still coming from your tranny, then check into changing the filters in there.
