Brake diagnostics.
Ok drove the car for the first time today. I bled the brakes before my journey and all seemed well while the car was sitting in the driveway (brake pedal stayed firm with steady pedal pressure). I get on the road and the brake pedal goes nearly to the floor and has very poor stopping power. Needless to say didnt get to get on the car like I wanted to.
When you pump the pedal with the car running the idle goes up. (vacuum leak)
I checked engine vacuum through the brake booster to engine line, (brake booster disconnected) and I got 20HG's of vacuum at an idle. I then pulled a vacuum on the brake booster itsself with my vacuum pump and cant achieve vacuum. This means the brake booster was a constant vacuum leak.
So now I get to change the brake booster.
Any helpful tips?
