Default Bad Auto tensioner?

Hey guys,

Im replacing my timing belt at the moment and the auto tensioner is being a f-ing SOB. The piston appears to be stuck, i am unable to push it in. Is it usually this difficult?

Are you trying to literally push it in because that won't work. Remove the small bolt at the back, and stick a small screw driver in there and turn, to compress the piston.

It's not a good idea to reuse the autotensioner. You'd be better off getting the updated design from Honda or converting this one to a manual.
