Customizing Captiva Blue Pearl
My 92 hatch is getting re-sprayed Captiva Blue this week. I love this shade of blue but I was wondering if there is any way to make this color "pop" more. I'm not looking for a new color code, just some tips or tricks to modifying the existing paint color recipe to get more depth and brilliance. Perhaps adding more flake? more pearl? Or maybe as simple as a few more coats of clear.
Any input is welcomed, Thanks in advance. Cheers

My body shop does mostly insurance work, so they don't really have any answers to my custom paint questions.
i wouldnt do a flake. i think youll get more depth with a pearl.
what you could do is. lay down the blue base color. assuming its only a basecoat type of color. then what you could do is either mix a pearl of your choise into an intercoat or clear. the only difference would be clear would build up faster. and the more coats of pearl will obviously give a more pearl effect. then i would do at least 2 coats of regular clear.
