im just looking for the itr look and want some gains!

 

AEBS like the skunk2 is engineered for more than just more air flow. It pressurizes the air different and the air travels in a different manner through it into the head. This requires ecu tuning and the head should be ported, because the way it draws air into the head is very different from stock. If you dont, you may see small gains. my local tuner was kind enough to inform me of this as he is considered in our area as the Honda guru. Blox? don't really know how it is designed. AEBS is cheap and does make power if it is matched the right way. It also has bosses for nitrous oxide. (Maybe you could use nitro methane: lol) Ive considered AEBS myself, but I went with S2 cams and thought their manifold would be a better match.

 

This is the way I see it, the blox/S2 was based off the ITR, the AEBS was tested on a ITR and made power over a ITR mani. Plus its way cheaper than a blox. My bolt on ITR with a AEBS made 185 with no tuning.

 

What did it make on that same dyno before you changed the intake manifold?

 

picked up 8 peak whp over my ported gsr intake manifold. with the aebs.

 

were you tuned? or just dyno'd? what were your other mods?I'm considering this, but I'd probably be on a p28 with gsr basemap & IABs disabled in the ecu.

to be honest, I'd like to, I'm just not sure how beneficial it would be being that my only mods would be a IM and a header.I don't **** money, so I'm just asking how that person's setup was done, to see if I will need to set aside additional money for that tune or will a basemap be ok. I understand if money is nothing to you, but I am just trying to see what my options are.

 

The OP - what are your current mods? I highly doubt an IM is gonna be next on your "to do" list.

 

was yours tested on the same dyno with no other mods? How did the rest of the midrange look?


My point to 2000r#0283 was that unless he had the numbers of before and after, posting a number can and will mislead many people as to actual gains.

 

i'm pretty sure busa160's build used the aebs im designed for the p72 casting. so my question to the op is.....(seeing that he hasn't replied yet) what motor and head casting are u using, b18a/b, b20b/z, b16a/b, b17, 18c/c1/c5....... pr3, p72 pr4, p8r?????

What does it mean in your .02??

 

a basemap is what you use to start an engine and check for leaks while you are pulling it onto a dyno...i know you werent talking to me but thats my .02 anyway haha

I have an AEBS and love it.

 

from what i have seen and experienced for the p72 gsr head the aebs is probably one of the better intake manifolds now for the pr3 cast it didnt make much of a diffrence over blox or skunk 2 im running the aebs on my b20 vtec with a gsr head so id say aebs over blox def if its on a gsr head
