found a JDM OEM TYPE R DC5 LSD for 580US shipped to my door in Canada,..

this LSD was used for a few hundred kms.. what do you think ?

 

well,.thats an awesome price,..but unless you have the DC5-R tranny or final drive,.it will not work in Type-S or base,something about the gears are different..SUx I know,..Quaife or Even ATS has or will have a LSD that will work soon enough,.but damn thats gonna cost a GRIP$$$$$

 

I have a canadian RSX Type S.. I heard it was different in tranny ..

I also have a JDM OEM Final drive for DC5..

and I am getting JDM OEM LSD..

evdience in why this would not work .. ?

for the transmission in simplest terms puts power to the wheels that have more traction. they also do other things too like someting to do with brakes but not sure if your oem one does this

MR.K20 where did you get this advice? I have not seen, but I have spoken to Hasport (they make engine mounts) they have a Type S motor (tranny as well) in an 02 civic with the DC5R LSD (bought from jdmhondaparts.com). From what they have told me it was not a problem. Just what I have been told.

Yahoo Japan usually has some used ones for the EP and DC5 for about 30000 Yen to 60000 Yen with less tan 3000km on them.. just some food for thought

 

Wouldn't you still be getting raped From importing them from Japan?

 

LSD (limited slip differential) has nothing to do with the brakes, but like you said it sends/transfers power to the wheel with the most traction, usually pulling your car into the direction needed....its SWEET especially in the rain

 

I think,another forum had a bunch of people saying that the gears were different in the DC5-R + the Final Drive or whatever,..that it wouldn't work.Not sure,..If it does then DAMN,..I'm gettin one!Thats just what I hear on the Net.no really Definate Fact that it will work as far as I know but hAsport I thought did that SO maybe it does work!??

 

1st 2nd 3rd gear is the same as Type S.. But I am also getting 4th 5th 6th Gear from Type R.. with my JDM Final Drive and LSD.. and a Toda Flywheel.. good setup ??

 

Yeah I mean from speaking to them. It works ...out with the old in with the new,no problem.

does anybody know does the jdm LSD needs to come with the bearing at the top? anyone know which part i'm saying?
