anyone have any info on the Accord Type R and the Accord Euro R engines
Basically I want to know the differences between the motors in these 2 cars and the motor in the Prelude type S. I think they are all rated at 220HP, but doesn't the Euro R have a different intake manifold?
I want to get a replacement motor for the H22A1 that came stock in my Prelude. I am leaning towards the Accord Euro R but I need to know what is better about it.

Good luck finding an Accord Euro R motor. Isnt it H22a7? Why would you replace your H22a? Is it shot? Get another H22a or rebuild yours.
Sport Compact Car in an article about the Accord R said it had 209hp.

euro r has a single stage intake manifold and it is STILL an h22a...accord type r also has the single tstage manifold but im not sure of the # on it.
THe ATR has an H22A7, making 209hp@7200RPM and 159lb/ft@6700RPM. The tranny is the best part as it uses a helical limited slip which is similar to the one used in the ITR.
yeah, Sport Compact Car has an article in the september issue about the JAS Engineering Accord ETCC race cars. They're H22s destroked to two liters, renamed the F20, and make apparently just a tad bit over 300 hp all-motor.
I almost cried tears of joy reading the article.

Actually, the blocks say H20A, so I wonder if they were a recast or not....

I remember seeing them (the BTCC car) last year at a car show. I managed to peek inside the engine bay and saw on the flipped engine that it was an H20A....
You went to a BTCC event? You need to post some pics.

they carry Accord Euro-R engines, <10k miles, $6k, I'm thinking about it.
email them... they should be able to explain the differences.
http://www.jdmhondaparts.com carries Prelude Type-S engines for $4.5k.
