We have no idea what year of Accord you have?

Usually it is about 9 quarts in the ENTIRE system

If the tranny had no fluid in it at all, it will take more than 3 quarts to fill it. 3 quarts only applies to a drain and fill (the tranny already had fluid in it).

my bad didn't bother telling the year because i have put a tranny in that doesn't come with my car.

96 accord ex

I haven't spotted one leak either so i guess it just needs to be filled up more since it was drained completely for shipping

still pretty surprising to me. gotta go buy more fluid... anyone know a good place to get this other then having to wait for it to be shipped online. it requires the honda premium formula. i don't want that dexron II stuff

Honda dealership is about the only place.
How long have you been driving it like this?

Note that AT transmission main cause of failure is due to heat. Lack of fluid means the heat cannot dissipate which cuts the life of the tranny.

it was driven with low fluid for just a little bit. i put the 2.5 quarts in and it said it was full then ran it stopped and checked and it was dry so i used up 4 quarts and ran out last night. but got some more today and ran it a few times and stopped it between runs checking the fluid and adding a bit more until it finally filled up after 5 quarts.

yep had to go the the dealership 8.50/per... but w.e good to have the right kind of fluid
