I've been shopping around for an Intake and want to go with J's Tsuchinoko, and after doing my research, Minor modifications are required at the back side of the stock hood, stock bumper, and stock air guide.
If anyone with any experiance on this matter, PLEASE shine some light on the subject for me.

The hood needs to be cut like this so the intake will fit. I also cut a hole in the stock cooling panel for the intake to go through to get down in the front bumper.

Dressed2Kill, you can't see it but I'm on my knees bowing to you right now. I was going to jump in and make the blind attempt. The pic's awesome. Thanks for the info.
Also, I don't know if you drive the S through the rain but if you have, have you had any problem with water?

woooooah - you don't need to cut anything like that - i cut out a piece thats about 3" x 6", painted the inside black, and finished it off with some rubber tubing - looks OEM. An easy cut through the plastic air guide and that's it. no bumper mods (apart from a drilled hole i think). I'll see if i can get a pic of the cut - it's hard to tell when the bonnets open - unlike the hack job in the pic! - no offense, but it's a huge hack job!

Have any of you ever seen how ugly an AEM/Injen/Fujita/Ebay CAI or short ram looks under the hood? I have an AEM V2...I want to get rid of it for a J's or a stock box with a snorkel just for the virtue of how F'ing ugly the AEM looks.
I care a lot about function and cost vs. benefit...but there's just some things that you should spend money on. I'm very particular on presentability and aesthetics. I hate the way the filter on the end of a stick looks.
I was thinking about getting a comptech (or CT engineering now), however. Looks much nicer than the AEM, but only costs like $300ish.
Or I may buy the J's because it's so damn pretty.

dude...it's ugly. lol just admit to me that it's ugly. I admitted mine is ugly. Cmon. Are you in some kind of ugly denial?
My AEM seriously hogs up all the ugly.

woot? stock looked pretty nice, I think. Iduno...I do like the ease of oil changes/routine maintenance with the AEM, though. I can stand in my engine bay and make B16A jokes while pushing the car....
i love my j's, and the gains were noticeable - i had a filter on a stick before and didn't notice barely any difference from stock - i put the J's on, and the difference was significant.

bigmacnfries is correct. J's intake is far superior than any other intake on the market for the S2000. Yes, the S2K comes practically set already but if you read up more about J's you'll learn they have always been about racing the S2000. J's participates in the Super Taikyu Racing Series in Japan every year (winning this past year with thier Kusson S2000) and also known as a huge Sponsor for many other track events such as them being the Champion at the 2008 Touge Cahmpionship beating 3 Rx7s, a Kobe Roadster, S15, and an R35 Skyline. Mind you, all of the competitors were turbocharged minus the S2000, and they also won the S-Tai event. The Tsuchinoko has seen massive increase in power in the mid to low ranges which is an extreme advantage to a vehicle that already masters the corners and its ability to get torque to the ground. J's has perfected and solved the intake/exhaust "bolt-on" questions long ago. Look'em up. You'll be surprised.
