Default ek auto tranny experts needed

i did a search here and had no luck so now im asking yall for some help. i got a automatic ek that shifts crazy. it shifts fine when the tranny is cold but as i drive for a while and come to a dead stop and go to pull off it feels like its slipping . if i pull off slow its ok. all the other gears are fine.if i pull off in 2cnd its fine. when i go to put in reverse it pauses then shifts. revers to drive same thing. i read some where something about a liner valve or something. can any one comment on this or has had this issue before. all help welcome.

what your problem is, is the linear solenoid.
upper linear solenoid to be more exact.
you will need to get that repalced and get a complete tranny flush afterwards.
some what expensive repair

The part that you are referring to is a "linear shift solenoid", and it has to to with harsh shifts, I believe. I don't know much about transmissions, though. Just what I have read online and in factory manual. Google civic linear shift solenoid and you will find posts and a Honda TSB. Does not have to do with slipping. If you are getting the fluid done get the Honda ATF-Z1 only with your issue. Two other things that affect auto performance are the proper adjustment of your throttle cable. And, believe it or not, your thermostat functioning properly.

At 180k, it might just be going. However they can be come by for very cheap with all the folks who swap out to manuals. Automatic just ain't cool. I'm old, though, and don't care about stick. Just an econobox daily driver that has to be dependable. I run a product called Auto-Rx (see the BITOG forums-this stuff may help but I make no guarantees) in every oil crankcase and transmission I have ever gotten in a used car over the last few years (sundance, maxima, integra, integra, intrepid, civic). None has ever failed. I did a complete exchange with Amsoil ATF on the current 96 ex auto and it shifts nicely.
