Default turbo ls vs. turbo b16a1?? power and 1/4's

im new to fi. actually havnt got that far yet. im looking at a turbo setup to start building. i was wondering what can yield more power and which will get me down the quarter faster. i am thinking on getting a obd1 ls to build for boost or a 1st gen b16. both because of price. i will have time. just want to know which can pull best. my ride is a 93 si hatch. any input is helpful. thanks

LS will pull harder b/c of more torque and will be better if your going to keep stock internals due to lower compression which means more boost

the b16a will make more power pound for pound, but the ls will make more torque.

B16 vs. LS turbo... same psi... same car/conditions... I'm going to say the times and MPH will *ALMOST* be identical... however I would put money that the LS will have a slightly FASTER 1/4 time, and the B16 will have a slightly HIGHER mph.

Most people will agree.

the better driver

i really hate these damn questions
there are 1000 diffrent variables.

ALL THINGS EQUAL the b16 (if its a second gen) will, higher redline =more boost, and vtec+boost will give it more top end. it will loose off the line but compensate by the 1/8th mark.

14.2@103 is my best run, spinning through 4th...is that enough power for you?

i got a friend that has a stock b16. all that was done to it was get it tuned w/ wideband o2 and he cranked out 325hp to the wheels on 12 lbs. went to the track and ran a best time of 12.3 on small slicks, same amount of boost and a jdm b16 lsd tranny. but i do have another friend with ls turbo and his car ran fast too so to me its up in the air. good luck

How much boost are u running? spinning thru 4th???..hmm..doesnt make sense that u could be making that much power and only trap a 103..

if you bang your head against a floating wall its just going to float away

OH MY GOD how many ******* times has this question been asked in the last week? you cant ask such a broad question. thats like saying, will a japanese car with a turbo beat an american car with a turbo? there are many specifics involved. which turbo, how many pounds of boost, whats the compression ratio, etc etc etc
