Default LMA replacement question??

I am replacing my loss motion assemblies in my LS/Vtec this weekend. The head is a 00 B16. I have everything except the large allen key to slide out the rocker arm pins. Does anyone know what size they are, and where I could get one? I saw in the FSM that it was a 20mm.

Also, anyone have any advice on removing these. FSM says to use rubber bands to keep the rockers together. Any othere tips? I will likely slide them out the passenger side.

Thanks.

That will definitely be a specialty tool. Try going to a machine shop or even a cylinder head shop and see if they can remove it for you.

Also, how much did your LMA's cost? I've been told they are insanely expensive.

I can't remember how big the allen key is, but i don't think it was 20mm sized.

when you undo the end bolt, you can actually thread in another bolt (LCA bolt i think?) and use that to pull out the shaft that holds the rocker arms in place.

the rockers will stay there when you pull it out so carefully remove each set of 3 afterwards, making sure not to drop the pins inside the rockers.

My LMA's were $181 from www.hondapartsdeals.com

Taking it to a shop is not an option.

Thanks

Thanks. Yes I will be very careful. The FSM says to screw in a 12mm bolt for removal. I also found a allen key that will fit the cover bolts, it is 3/8. Unusual size I know, but it fits perfectly. I happened to have the exact size from when I replaced brakes on an S10,..go figure.
