Default what if i didnt use torque mounts??

does anyone know the benefit to using the torque mounts on any eg , dc , or ek?

im doing a gsr swap in my 97 and the torque mount bolts dont line up correctly. they seem to be about 1/2 inch off on each hole... and theres no bushing play cuz they are es bushings...

so what if i just dont use them??

by torque mounts are you referring to the very front lower mounts on the motor and trans?

the rear torque mount is a must! i've seen many people do without the 2 front lower torque mounts and be just fine, but you have to have the 2 upper on engine and trans and the rear torque mount at minimum.

ok im not gonna lie i still dont even know what these things are but evidently i dont have them on my coupe and i just had a piece of my block break off where my motor mount connects to the motor and everyone keeps telling me that if i would have had them then this wouldnt of happened so you better believe when i get it back running and fixed and everything i am going to get me some torque mounts...so i would definately do my best to get them to fit

do you have the correct tranny side torque mount bracket?

same happened to my swap you have to use the one from the b18 tranny or try switching them out

or try a torque mount from an integra as the brackets are different

thanks for the input so far guys lets keep more opinions coming.

Fastrxu - im using a tranny torque mount from an integra... all B series tranny torque mounts are the same.

and to redprelude98 - sorry to hear what happened. im using stock worn out regular engine mounts so my engine has enough wiggle room to not be so stiff it would break a mounting spot. sounds to me like you had aftermarket mounts on your car.

i was actually concerned about maybe wheel hop being affected? i wodner if those mounts have anything to do with that?
