When i push the clutch pedal in the grinding noise goes away yes i know its the bearing inside the tranny....but when going in a parking lot very slow i hear grinding also....and when downshifting i can hear a grinding/whining noise coming from the tranny...i need to swap out the old D15b and tranny for a new one but until then any ideas on what fluid i should change it with?

 

Your throwout bearing is shot, changing the fluid isnt going to do anything 4 u.

 

i second the throwout bearing is bad.

 

Um...with the clutch in, if it gets quiet, that's the ISB. TOB is when it's quiet when the clutch is out....

 

how long do you think i have on it?

 

5 days 22 minutes and 33 seconds but really I wouldnt go 2 much longer with it like that.

 

hey guys i have a 93 del sol s model and im having similar problems. first my clutch is slipping and when i take off slowly on first gear it makes noise. in addition on higher rpm it pops out of gear on its own ..is there any hope or should i just replace the tranny??

i think ur clutch and flywheel unbolted from ur crank my eg9 did tha same thing

then it is your isb.
in the first vid, you can hear that grinding/whining noise when i disengaged and engaged the clutch.
in the second vid, you can hear the same noise as i was driving through the gears.

 

that sux. when i did my first engine swap, when i pulled the auto tranny out my EG 3 of the dam flywheel bolts had back out a lot.

 

that sounds like the flywheel bolts

 

damn ive never heard one that bad

 

i have a spinning rattle sound under throttle....my guess which im trying tomorrow is putting grease behind the shift fork on the TOB
