your kidding?

IF you bypass it, then it will always be on.

Just put a new relay in it.

i did put a new relay on it... and i have seen people bypass it straight to the fuse box to where it only comes on when the key is in on position... the new relay worked perfect for 3 days then started doin the same thing again...

if by new you mean from honda, then pull the ECU, have someone who can work on circuit boards replace the large electrolytic cap close to the connectors. That should fix the delay'd fuel pump problem. This is a common problem with our ECUs since they are getting older.

If your "new" relay was from a yard then it's likely it has the same issue yours does... have it repaired via resoldering the connections in the relay. (do the ECU while you're at it)

Keep in mind this problem will only get worse with time, it will not prime at all sooner than you think.

bypassing the relay is not only dangerous it's going to cause a lot problems. The pump and injectors are not meant to be on all the time.
one last point, the injectors and fuel pump are different wires...

i found out that the pump and injectors were different wires... the resoldering the ecu idea is great i will be trying that and be getting another brand new main relay also this way the problem is all fixed at once... hopefully.... appreciate that idea...

if it's taking that long to turn on the pump, maybe your ECU is the problem and bypassing the relay won't fix your problem.

also, when you bypass the relay, you're running the risk of ruining the ECU as the pump will try to draw a high current from the ECU and might ruin it in the process. the relay runs from the small current that the ECU supplies to it and in turn the relay runs the pump with a high current.

the main relay is put there for a reason

I didn't see Relic's post earlier. Instead of buying a new ECU you can follow his advice about replacing the capacitor on the ECU which should fix the problem according to him.
