Default first all motor build

iv always done turbos turbos and more turbos. but now im wanting to do a little N/A build on my DD.

im wanting to stay with the stock gsr cams and see if i can reach 200whp.. or close to it. but im wanting to do 12.5:1 JE pistons.

now would i have to clay the motor and make sure the valves dont hit with that high of compression? or is it still safe? also since my deck and head r warped really bad should i get like a .040 headgasket? and is 12.5:1 pistons + milling too much for 93 octane?

Yes clay is always advised.

If your mating surfaces are that badly warped and you want to keep OEM deck height & combustion chamber height. Tell make sure to note how much material the machine shop had to remove from both surfaces. Then go out and buy your head gasket according to that measurement.

12.5:1 is a bit much for a DD on 93 octane. From what I have been seeing 11:5ish is usually the max with a really tight tune. A properly planned build with a good quench and coatings can help keep detonation down in a higher compression ratio engine. It all depends on what your looking at using for internals as to how tight a quench you can run. The tighter the parts can stay at high temperatures the better for N/A. 0.035"-0.040" is my goal.
