I am considering taking out my ABS and all that junk, but I have read without any definitive, that it will interfere with my 4WS. Is that true? If I want to keep 4WS I have to keep ABS as well?

If anyone would like to weigh in I would be much appreciative.

i have a 4th gen 4ws and my ABS light comes on
i pulled the fuses to diasble the ABS but noticed my 4ws light wuld come on after driving a few minutes

its fine when the fuses are put back tho
so in one way or another...ABS is connected to 4WS somehow

i also want to ditch my ABS system on my 4ws model

 

Ahhhh, this is why my 4WS light is coming on after 5 minutes of driving. My ABS pump died around the same time!

I want to remove my ABS, too.

 

Hm. So no one knows about this? Have to do some research I am sure to figure this one out.

 

4WS is dependent on the wheel-speed sensors in the abs system; 4WS control unit and ABS control unit are connected. If you remove any part of the abs system, the abs control unit will shut down and 4WS will resultantly shut down as well.

Yes but there are models of prelude that have 4ws and no ABS.
The 4ws does rely on the ABS sensors, but you could still remove parts of the ABS system without removing the sensors, and wiring them directly to the 4ws ecu.
