the plastic molding around the shifter doesnt wanna give. We removed all the screws, and we cant seem to find anything thats holding it down, but something is still there, also,we removed the ashtray before removing the molding, any other idea on how to get to take that damn radio oout?
okay, the old stock player is out, now we have a bunch of wires, that we dont know where they go, inside of the area were we pulled out the old stock one, is a big white thing with plugs comming from the car, now, the booklet that came with the new cd player, doesnt tell us how to connect it, how do we know what wire goes with what wire?
remove the ashtray, remove the plate that holds the ashtray(3 screws?)
Now you will have access to the 2 eight millimeter bolts that hold the radio bezel in place.. they are kinda tricky to get to, remove them and pull out the radio and cd player as one unit, thats factory install..
But hold on here boys and girls.. the optional CD player had mounting brackets to hold it in place.. these can be seen on both sides of the center console, you have to stick yer head underneath the glove box and drivers side dash to visually see them.. it should be a gold colored "Y" bracket held by 2 eight mm bolts.. I remember installing these...they kinda sucked..

im trying to take out my stock tape player. So i can get to the wires to install the RCA wires and the REM wires to hook up to my amp. But its is hella hard to get the damn thing out. But from this forum i guess i have an idea of how to get it out. But after i do how do i wire it up. I need a diagram or sumn. If u still have the Civic diagram could u send it to me or sumn plz.
Why don't you guys save yourself some headaches and go buy a wiring harness from Sears or Circuit City pn#70-1720. These things will save you alot of time and they do plug up to the big white plug that came from your stock radio.
