Default i got a free tank.

so my uncle cleaned out his storage and he gave me a tank from his old welding stuff. he saiod the tanks about two years old. there are no labels. he said it might be Nitrous or oxygen. how could i tell. and if its for Oxygen what could i do to use it for nitrous? thanks guys

Fill a ballon with a SMALL amount of it, tie a match to a long stick, and burn it. Oxygen will make the flame huge, n2o to a lesser extent, helium/co2/argon/nitrogen will put it out, and acetaline will self-combust with a flame+oxygen.
