You could start by using the correct ECU

that is the correct ecu to use, and its gonna run alittle rich, if its running extremely rich then you most likely have a problem somewhere else.

Is your ignition working well?
Timing set properly?
Guessing that it might not working suffiently and can't burn off all the fuel.

Compression check?
