Alright I have an 88 civic hatch and I found some mint 91 civic sedan headlights at the junkyard I mean they look brand new and was wondering are they a direct bolt in for my 88 hatch?

Nope, 88-89 fit on yours. If you really wanted to, I think you can take the 91 headlight off the brackets, then take yours off your brackets, and use the 91 headlight with your 88-89 brackets. YMMV, I remember reading about this somewhere

the way the corner lights mount, for one...
other than that, not lots. i have done it.

 

Oh then I should be fine since I have to get the corner lights anyway, See basically the only useable part on my front end is the bumper. I'm replacing the fenders, hood, getting new headlights, side marker lights, and probably a core support and oh that filler peice thingy.
So the 91 headlights with their brackets will bolt into the 88 core support.

I think the only reason I swapped brackets is because the corner lights wouldnt mount right.
