Default help with d16y7 in a ek

ok so my engine broke on me, we took it down the car (2000 civic auto)

nw that i went to buy my engine from a importer i was told that i have to put my oil pump into the new engine, cause all the engines that come from japan have the sensor in the oil pump and mine is in the dizzy ???

i would apreciate any help.. thanks

u must b talkin about the crank sensor. The crank sensor is down behind the crank pulley. On OBD1 cars they are in the dizzy

sorry the new engine i was told over the phone that it has zc but they didnt told me the code.

I'm not quite sure how this got started, and then subsequently spread, but no. OBD2 USDM civics and integras have a CKF sensor attached to oil pump, JDM engines lack this, This sensor is in addition to, not in place of the CKP sensor in the distributor.

To the OP, heres what you can do:

1: Reuse your USDM oil pump (If you spun a rod bearing I highly suggest you don't reuse that oil pump, even if you didn't I wouldn't neccessarily recommend it)

i had the same problem with my obd1 d15b vtec in my ek, i used my old oil pump to plug up the crank sensor and youre probably gonna have to use youre old oil pan as well with that pump and the obd1 dizzy isnt going to plug up either and your old obd2 dizzy's bolts are not going to line up so youre going to need a obd1 to obd2 dizzy jumper harness
