rear disc brakes for lx models
Trending Topics
you might be surprised how well drum brakes can perform, especially considering rear brake setups... in a fwd car, they barely do any work. outside of total road race competition, drum brakes are totally up to the task of stopping your civic over and over again.
For daily trips to work/school, drums will suffice. The civic is a relatively light car, and as mentioned before, the front is where most of the braking occurs. With that in mind, it stands to reason that a simple drum set up in the rear is all one would need when going to the supermarket.
i asked if you would prefer drums ALL AROUND as in on all four wheels.
i don't know about you but i prefer the quick stopping power of full discs. the pedal just seems too squishy without them

Oh, I misread your post. Given the option of either or I would have to go with discs. Drums in the front get very inconsistant under heavy braking. There hasn't been a car with four drums in production for years.
Im pretty sure carcrazy is right about drums. Sad to say they are better but they can't cool off like discs can. And all 06-09 lx civics have the fuggly drums. I have the drums in the rear too on my coupe but I have the rear disc swap sitting in my garage. Just haven't had the time to swap it out. Cant wait though. Got them all together for $100 bucks!
I got mine from a guy off 8th civic! I got his rear disc brakes and Si seats and console from his wrecked Si! I am in the middle of converting my lx over to black interior. Whoever at Honda that decided on a gray interior in an atomic blue civic should be shot! Atleast charcoal I mean c'mon! Anyways I'll post a pic of my project later tonight!
