idling is fine once i start the car. later in the day while driving, idling will be at about 1500 and has trouble getting past 1700 when accelerating slowly. the needle and engine will just go back and forth between 1500-1700. i can get past it by applying more gas, and it will seem to run fine. the check engine light is on, and now its bothersome cruising at low speeds, because i cant without being past 2000 or so.

discovered the CEL# is: po505 - idle air control.

suggestions to fix?

 

check for vacuum leaks man. Try replacing your pcv valve..
