I know this isn't a tech question, but I was looking at buying an extended warranty for my 07 si. I've already had to bring the car back a few times to the dealer for little things for warranty like a broken visor and the rubber molding navi problems, but scared what might come up after the warranty ends. The question I have is, does the extended warranty add on top of the current warranty that already comes with the car? Like, I know the car currently has a 36 / 3 year warranty so if I buy a 5 year extended does it make it 8 years total? What do you guys think? Do you guys think its worth it to buy one? Sorry if I posted in the wrong place...

The extended warranty is an ADDITION to your current warranty, so if you decided on the extra five you would be at eight total.

 

since i bought the 10 year/100k mile warranty,
i would have 13 year/ 136k mile warranty??
ehhhh no. when u buy extended warranty, you lose the original 3 year/ 36k mile warranty, which is replaced with whatever warranty you purchased.

 

You know your car and how you will or won't take care of it. It's your decision to go extended or not. I don't buy them. There's too many "outs" for the provider to deny coverage and I don't need the stress. Be carefull who you buy from and read the whole friggin' contract and ask questions, get answers and promises in writing! I take care of my cars and have been lucky so far that nothing major has failed, and I keep them a long time. If something major would fail, the money I didn't spend for an extended warranty would of course help in paying for the repair.

 

i don't think it worth it, do you know how many times you will take your car back to your dealer? and what about after the additional warranty ends? just take good care of your car.
