Best brake pads for integra gs-r
I'm doing both front and rear brakes soon and was wondering what pads I should buy: Factory or aftermarket. I have stock integra wheels and they hardly get any dust on them so I imagine they are some good pads. The previous owner was the last one that changed them so I have no idea what they are.

Not necesarily. I know porterfield R4S make more dust and those are good pads.
It all depends on what you want, daily driving, performance/autocross, track......
Many people recomend the Porterfield R4S or a simmilar Hawk pad for daily driving and autocross.
How are you going to use the pad? That is the first question to sort out.

cobalt is offering a discount to all honda tech members through august on axxis ultimates. I have heard alot of good things about them, my next set of fronts will be ordered from them
My teg is just a daily driver I don't go to the track or anything yet so I don't need anything hardcore. I just want a reliable pad with minimal dust.

Axxis Ultimates
Do a SEARCH for more info on them, they are awesome and great for street and occasional track duty if you want.

Axxis Ultimates
This is very interesting news, because Carbotech's owner used to heavily promote the Axxis Ultimate product line. He has apparently stopped doing this because he has his own street compound available. Not sure, but it sounds like a bait-and-switch...JMO.
Ask the owner of Carbotech which pads he used to have on his Acura CL, and used to RAVE about to all his customers: Axxis Ultimate.
Regarding points of business, since I only sell products that I consider to be the best within their performance category, I'm not worried about another company/vendor making negative comments about a product that I sell. The reason is, my customer know where to come to honest, straightforward advice, and I venture to say that Cobalt does not have a single unhappy customer...we strive, and achieve, 100% customer satisfaction, primarily by telling the truth, and not what is convenient.

Andie, sorry I know thats frustrating that Larry would do that. Yes, it hurts your business from his unprofessional and crooked way of doing business.
I recently ordered a set of Axxis Ultimates from Andie @ cobalt for the front of my 00 Si and havnt had the opportunity to say anything bad about them. Many good qualities I was looking for in a street pad... low dust, NO noise, great bite, and works even better with some heat in them (good for autoX and even first time HPDEs). Autoxed on these pads twice so far and was able to easily threshold brake my azenis. Cobalt=

97RedTegGSR:
For your 1997 Integra GSR, you use the D617 front pad, and the D564/D374 rear pad.
In the Axxis Ultimate compound, the prices are:
FRONT D617 - AXXIS ULTIMATE -- $62.85
REAR D564/D374 - AXXIS ULTIMATE -- $45.75
**Your Honda-Tech.com discount is 15% from these prices.**
The normal UPS cutoff for today has passed, but UPS typically doesn't show up until 450pm...so I can get your order out today if you call within the next 10 miinutes, otherwise, I can send it out tomorrow.

Andie Lin

Certainly...if you are just driving on the street (commuting), and rarely brake aggressively (read: no mountain drives, etc.), then OEM is more than sufficient, agreed. Don't fix what is not broken, as they say!
I was under the impressive that we were looking for a high-performance street pad, and not just an OEM replacement.
