well my friend got this si sitting at home we bought it and the seller said it had a bad thermostat that thats why it overheated so we drove it from LA to the southbay like that it started over heating but for my stupidity to make it to work early i kept driving it started blowin up blue smoke then we got to the exit and just shut off we try crankin and nothing not a peep the engine is a d16z6 so they told us it needed a new head we bought a head from a 95 civic ex and we put it on but i noticed the block was full of water i just cleaned it so we crank it and it turns over but no start we think it mite be the distributor sounds like no spark but im not sure can sumone give me ideas of wat it might be thanxxx HT
Why did you continue to drive the car as it overheated? You dug your own grave man now you just have to fix your own mistakes. Bump

i was like 30 min late to my job already and one more late and i was out so i took the risk either job or car so it was car lol but yeah just looking for sum reasons why it mite not be cranking still
Well either it got to HOT and siezed up or your battery is shot. I havent seen many Honda motors sieze up but if it got to hot then it may have. I would try putting a breaker bar or wratched on the crank pulley and try cranking it manually to see if it is siezed or not. If it is real ruff then I would say your screwed if it turns over then start with the battery and starter etc.

no check or anything and it cranks but no start im not sure with the HOT subject can u explain n wat u mean start it manually noob on sohc engines and efs this is my first 91 civic si
Turn the crank pulley by the bolt that threads into the crankshaft. You probably ****ed **** up bad on the bottom end. Possibly cooked rings. Which would mean no compression.

im not so sure cuz i havent checked it yet cuz im out of town but when my friend bought the car and i was there the seller said that it didnt have vtec because it had a nonvtec harness so im not so sure what that meant but yea the car has a d16z6 but the distributor didnt have obd1 plugs there were obd0 im sure how he got that too work and no checks or anything
its wierd that your arent throwing any cels. check your spark by taking out a boot and put it near ground if you get spark Try turning the little rotor that goes in the cylinder head 180 degrees then try to start it. sometimes thats the case lol.
he probably converted the engine to obd0 is what it sounds like

yea thats what im guessing put obd0 injector plugs and put a odb0 distributor with a obd0 ecu im planning to go all obd1 but check rywire 300 for a engine harness thats too much should i just get the obd0 to obd1 distributor conversion harness that now they sell for a package for 190 with ecu conversion 4 wire 02 sensor and the distributor conversion
yeah you will need a d16z6 dizzy and a chipped p28. with that conversion harness it usually gives extra wires to wire in vtec and what not

so ht a d16z6 with p28 and the rywire distributor conversion harness will i be aite with just that comes with ecu conversion harness the distrbutor obd0 to obd1 an also the 4 wire 02 sensor am i gonna be okae
if that car is already running a p28 then something must have already been done to the wiring harness since i dont think obd0 plugs will go into an obd1 ecu
