Default Noob question on DC5 and FG2

I'm truly sorry if this has been asked a couple times before, but I searched on honda tech and on google and still couldn't find my answer! I'm looking to buy an (05-06) Rsx type-s or a Civic si (06 and up) after I graduate in May and while I decide between the two I have two questions. First, can an FG2 suspension completely swap onto a DC5 chassis? I'd be willing to do the work if it did and I'd love all around independent suspension on that car. I doubt it would between the differences of the chassis between the two though. Second, can a k20a2 swap into an FG2? I actually couldn't find anything on this! I could have rywire make a custom harness if I felt like I couldn't do the wiring myself, and I would have some help on anything custom to make it work. I've thought about the K20z3, but I'd greatly prefer the k20a2 for my all motor build. Any sites, or information would be great on this! Thanks!

I'm sure people have heard this before, but I'm going for an all motor build and the k20a2 has much more potential in the aftermarket. I know the z3 comes with an LSD trans. but I'm more worried about being able to use k pro, and the balance shafts the z3 has in the oil pan while the a2 doesn't is a benefit. It should be far better to modify for an all motor setup. btw I don't know what IIRC means?

the z3 has the same potential as the a2.. most the K series parts are all interchangable.. the problem for the Si is there is no real solid tuning solution out for us yet, hondata is working on at the moment and will be great once it is released.. swaping a a2 into a Si would be no diff than keeping the z3 in there.. you still need to run DBW in the Si so your not going to be gaining anything.. and no you can't swap suspention from a Si to a rsx..

first off, no the suspensions aren't interchangeable. second off, it's possible to wire in an rsx ecu to run the engine and have k-pro on it while the stock ecu runs the dash. however, this isn't a common thing to do and would require you to figure out the wiring for it. if you put a k20a2 in the car you'd have to convert the motor to dbw and use the civic ecu unless you did the dual ecu conversion. the reason is that the rsx ecu won't be able to run the civic dash since they're completely different.

if you're set on getting k-pro, go with the rsx. there's no good way to tune the civic yet (if ever). however, there ARE performance mods for this motor, such a turbo, supercharger, and your usual collection of i/h/e.

If i was you id prolly go with the FG2, even tho we do not have k-pro just as of yet u can still get the hondata reflash and ctr parts for your all motor build. And use the balance shaft option to your advantage. The lsd unit will also save u money as its a good option stock to get you on the right path but the decision is yours not h-t members it what makes you happy in the long run.

I know alot of ppl have probably forgot but Hytech has an engine kit that comes with a custom reflash and makes 265 whp on our cars.. to bad more ppl arent running this kit.. i think this setup would whip up on some greddy/comptech boys...

find a ECU from an a2 along with a cable TB and bam tuning for a z3, anything possible with a price tag, and pedal assembly..

they also say that a stock si make 195-200 on the dyno....thats way too high. and i dont think it comes wit the reflash.

that is a ton of work for the gains.

You should edit your statement to read "if you want to put in a K20A2 and run K20A2 ECU.....," other wise you can bolt in and run a K20A2 but you need to swap over all the K20Z3 sensors, and modify the RBC manifold to bolt onto the K20A2 Cylinder head.

If you were going with bolting in engines route I would go with the K20Z1 or a K24A2 and run greddy emanage ultimate to get the AFR's in check.

They do make that much power stock, on an engine dyno.

The kit with pistons requires blended fuel, it doesn't run with general pump gas.

Okay thanks guys. I'll make my decision soon here but so far I'm going with the FG2. Thanks a lot.
