which motor?
I have a 1992 integra gsr. i got the for as a DD, but now the motor need new rings. I really want to keep the motor stock cause there are not alot 1.7 liters out there, but somehow i was thinking of doing ls/b20 vtec cause of tq but keeping stock. im not looking to dump $$$ cause this is my DD. I want to keep the motor original but.... well you guys know.
If your looking to spend only three figures then just pick up a low mileage LS engine, it will probably be faster than your 1.7.
Any other way (B20/LS vtec, replacing the rings... etc.) will cost you more than $$$. and Hybrids are NOT daily drivers with out a lot of cash in them.

see that the thing, i have a boosted lsvtec too. before i rebuilt the bottomend, i daily drive my hatchback almost 400mi a week with no problem for years. but i might just replace the rings in the motor
Well if you know what your doing (sorry I assume people usually don't), you should drop some new rings in there. b17 are are rare enough to make it worth it.
