I really want to keep the motor stock cause there are not alot 1.7 liters out there, but somehow i was thinking of doing ls/b20 vtec cause of tq but keeping stock. im not looking to dump $$$ cause this is my DD. If your looking to spend only three figures then just pick up a low mileage LS engine, it will probably be faster than your 1.7.

Any other way (B20/LS vtec, replacing the rings... etc.) will cost you more than $$$. and Hybrids are NOT daily drivers with out a lot of cash in them.

Well if you know what your doing (sorry I assume people usually don't), you should drop some new rings in there. b17 are are rare enough to make it worth it.

yea, if you know what you're doing, just go ahead and replace it. no need doing anything else but get it running properly for a dd.
