Default How do you make both fans run at the same time

Ok so after my overheating issues which got taken care of, I just want to make sure it won't happen again and would like to wire up the condenser fan so it would run at the same time the radiator fan turns on. They told me I shouldn't wire it directrly to the rad fan, that I need a relay or something. Has anyone done this or know exactly how to do it? By the way, my A/C was completely removed.

are you using stock fans? you might be able to get away with using a 3-way connector. This is what I did when I installed a pusher on my half size. If you are using after market fans, check out how many amps they each pull to make sure you won't overload the wiring for the radiator fan.

I'm using stock fans, how did you hook up yours with the 3 way connector?

I got these connectors at NAPA. They are formed in the shape of a "Y". You can cut the wire between the fan and the electrical plug; install the connector and then run one wire to the radiator fan and the other to the condenser fan. Therefore, when the computer closes the circuit and power is applied to the radiator fan, both fans will come on.

Have you had any problems, blown fuses?
So the blue wire on the rad fan to the blue wire to the condenser fan? that's it?

no blown fuses....idle drops a little bit and then recovers when they kick on

i have been told wiring both of your stock fans to the same circuit will cause an overload. you will have to wire in a 4 post relay.
# 85 is the power from the other cooling fan.
# 86 needs to be a ground.
# 30 is a fused power source.
# 87 will be the power connection for the a/c fan.

I wouldnt double the load on the fan circuit like that. Def use a relay.

Can #30 on the relay be run from the fuse box? So #30 will be power and #86 ground right? Sounds like fun, I'll do it tomorrow.
