Bypassing Immobiliser to fit F20c into AE86
Hey there guys and girls.
I'm in the process of buying an AE86 that it running an F20c on VEMS EMS. I am looking into changing the management to the stock honda item.
After copious amounts of research I gather that the S2000 is fitted with a transponder in the key and such when it is put into the ignition barrell send s signal to the ECU through the immobiliser reciever unit.
My question is, can I bypass this system?
My basic requirements are to get the car running under the stock honda management so that I no longer have to worry about cold starting and fueling.
I can imagine that one solution would be to utilise the whole system, taking the transponder out of the key and pushing it all up under the dash. So, the Honda ECU "thinks" the right key is being used. To be honest, I'm not keen on this idea as it gives me excess wiring under the dash.
I know it can be done because it HAS been done.
Thanks for reading.
Regards,
Ben

I"m not positive, but I think you may be able to wire in a regular ign. switch into the stock switch wiring to get it to run, but bypass i'm not sure. I think Hondata has an ECU w/ the immobilizer disable. www.hondata.com
Not sure who has been able to disable the oem ecu's immobilizer, but I hope they never post instructions on a public forum for thieves to find.
most thieves just get a key from the dealer, all they need is the VIN, immobilizer is pointless then.
if you go with an AEM EMS then there's no immobilizer anymore.

Immobilizer will not matter if you are putting the motor and ECU in a different car. It's kind of a joke. All the immobilizer dose is sends a ground singnal to the fuel pump relay once the key is in the ignition. Which will not matter if the motor and ECU are in another car with straight foward fuel pump wiring (other than a S2K).

Other than having to prove you own the vehicle, sure. I've had to have a key replaced and before they would sell me the key I had to prove I owned the vehicle, by my ID, and getting a signed paper from the auto tag office stating I am the owner.
because everyone at the dealer is honest right? sorry but all it takes is one guy at the dealer making key's for his buddies and no one's car is safe. the one guy we know from the meets who steals cars says that's how he gets cars with immobilizers, just gets the keys from his friends at dealers. pretty easy to steal a car with the key. he did say that the top of the line Clifford is enough to stop most thieves though, going to get one of those on my S before too much longer.
