More information please. Any recent modifications? cold air intake? Breather filter? etc....

From the motor itself, or in the general area? Id have to say a minor exhaust leak or vacuum leak without knowing anything.

Yeah probably some sort of leak or extra air being allowed in or out. I just swapped a GSR into my EK and mine does it too. I just have a filter mounted to my throttle body so the vent isn't recirculating back. So just check the vacuum lines first.

a friend of mine had this problem a while back, while we were driving back from a road trip. the car was an auto nissan.. turned out to be a failing alternator..would make this really odd, kinda screeching sound while driving.. .. don't know if that applies to you.. good luck..

x2
my alternator got wet or something so it made a "whining, grinding" sound.
or if you have an amp to back spaekers or subs. your rcawires could be too close to your power wire.

there are a lot of things that could "whine" i think we wil need more info.
like where is the sound coming from?
