Default Spring rates/Suspension (yes I searched)

ok I used the search and all I found was some argument (search and youll see)

I am getting ready to do my suspesnion on my 88 CRX

I ordered koni 5 way yellow's. Now I wanted to go with Neuspeed race or eibach. Do either of these companys offer customer spring rates?

I will be putting in a b18c1 and the car will basically be track and auto X with a weekend run here and there.

I was thinking about 500R and 450 Front, I think 500 is the limit of the koni yellow's. So Im just asking around for experiance with spring rates what are you guys on the track and autoX running?

Sway bars? I figure this car should only need a rear one the Stock fron (SI) one looks fine for a FF, I would remove it but I plan on using a cable LSD tranny. So who offers a 22mm Rear Bar?

Any help would be great guys.

Thanks for reading.

Your best bet would be to go with a set of Ground Control coilovers. That way you have many choices in spring rates. 450# and 500# are great choices but will be VERY, VERY stiff on the street crx. I run 400#F and 450#R and it's VERY stiff. I only use the car for autocross, so I dont mind the stiffness.

With 450# springs and a heavy B18 engine, you will probably want to remove the front sway bar all together. My car handles a million times better with no front sway bar and the 22mm rear ST sway bar.

Good luck with your project

i agree with steve 91....get some ground control coilovers and get custom spring rates from them. the rates are in 25lb increments.

Aren't Neuspeed race 575 front and 535 rear? I run Neuspeed race with Koni Yellows and find them great for autox....

I am using skunk2 coilover's 450lb-front 350lb-rear with KYB AGX 4-way adjustables. I have the dampning set on 2, and it is crazy stiff, the ride is great.

how does the car react with no front swaybar? it seems like a lot of additional force is going to be dumped into the unibody, does the car roll more or less?

What do you mean by "5 way yellows?" What are the part numbers you're getting?
AFAIK, off the shelf, there aren't any Koni Yellows for the rear of an 88 that are adjustable while on the car. "8041" is the part number prefix for "on the car adjustable" yellow koni's. The "8040" prefix is adjustable but must be fully compressed to do so.

with those spring rates the car will still ride stiff. i am running that EXACT same combo and the ride is def. stiff. its bearable, but i don't daily drive the car so maybe that's why.

what are the spring rates for gc's?
you can get whatever spring rates you want from GC, but their street kir is usally in the 200+range for the fronts and the 180+ range for the back. call them up and ask.
