Ok first things first:
Build Quality - The first thing I thought to do when I got the Drop Stops out of the box was to hit someone with them. They look like plushy billy clubs. So I did, I spent a good twenty minutes smacking my brother around (in the name of writing a good review of course). They held up perfectly to all the bombarding and didn't rip or tear or lose their stuffing.
There were a couple loose threads right near the opening on the underside but I cut them with a scissors and I don't think they'll be a problem.
The stitching looks good and it feels like it should hold up for at least a couple years, which should be more than long enough. The padding on the inside has a good feel to it, pliable but firm enough to fill in all the little cracks next to the seat.
Installation: Super easy. One word of advice though, if you have relatively big side bolsters (like my Subaru), SLIDE THE BACK END IN FIRST and then put the seatbelt through. It makes life much easier. Also, it takes a little bit of finagling to make sure it doesn't get twisted from front to back, but when you get it in there just right it stays perfectly and fills all the little crevices where stuff can fall down.
Impressions after installation and test run: The black matches perfectly with the interior trim and side colors of my seats (which are black). It does not look out of place at all and could easily be mistaken for OEM except for the little tag at the back that says Drop Stop (which, honestly, I could do without but isn't bad enough to make me cut it off). Also, you can't see the tag from the front seats so it's not really a big deal.
The fit is perfect. I started taking everything I could and throwing it at the Drop Stop (I got some weird looks from my neighbors). Nothing fell through and everything just stuck right to the side. I cannot believe that such a stupid little invention is something that everyone needs and no one has thought of before
Overall I think these are a great investment, especially for the price. They fit really well into my Subaru and have an OEM look to them, which is really nice to me (I don't like flashy). They do what they are designed to do and they do it without any sort of fancy gadgetry or ostentation.
I do think they may have some trouble if there is a lot of space between the seat and the center console, which could easily be remedied with thicker Drop Stops (for like minivans and such).
My girlfriend has a lot of issues with dropping stuff down the cracks in her car and it has a black interior also so I will be recommending these to her. If all goes well, everyone in her family will buy one.

Ok and now after a day of driving with it:
I have dropped my phone 3 times on it and didn't even realize all my change had fallen out of my pocket. Every time I dropped my phone it was right there next to me and I didn't have to cut my hand reaching under the seat for it (ironically, I cut my pinky installing one of the damn things and I didn't even realize it
).
As for the change, I dropped it nearly two hours earlier and drove with the change just sitting there. Because of the roundedness of the Drop Stop, the coins basically slide ever so slightly in between the Drop Stop and the center console, which has the possibly unintended benefit of holding the coins there instead of letting them slide behind the back of the seat. In other words, 2 hours after I dropped my coins, when I got home they were still sitting there plain as day. So I didn't lose 75 cents
All in all, after one day of hard use they have done everything they were designed to do and have saved my *** at least 5 times in one day.

I just wanted to say thanks for offering such a great product. It has already come in handy a few time. Hell, I dropped 4 things down in between the seat and console while waiting for my order to come in. I never noticed how often I actually dropped stuff down there until I came across this thread.

OP: I think you have a good idea here. Are you the sole proprietor? Do you have a permanent or provisional patent?
Dealing with having stuff manufactured in Taiwan myself, as well as some close friends of mine who have invented things that were manufactured over seas, I suppose the only bit of advice I can give you is: Make all the money you can before the very people who manufacture your product, undermine you and start producing it themselves.
Patent or not, China and Taiwan respectively, don't give a **** and don't honor U.S. patents unless you have huge corporate money behind you.
I actually changed to a manufacture in Colorado that is just as cheap as Taiwan, but now I don't have to deal with customs and shipping anymore...as well as being undermined. Slumping economy FTW.
You have a clever idea, and that's what makes it a hit. It's not for me, but that doesn't mean you won't sell a few on H-T. Good luck
