Rough Gas Pedal
So i've noticed that my gas pedal seems rough. Before, the gas pedal went down smooth. But now, i have to give it more pressure, it seems that it's stuck then it engages, but i have to do it soft otherwise it'll go full throttle. When the car is off, the pedal is real smooth. I checked under the hood n the hook on the throttle feels just like the pedal. Any idea what might b going on here? Already added WD40 on the throttle body cable n it didn't work.
sounds like maybe the butterfly in the throttle body is sticking. I had that problem with my old del sol. A friend of mine gave me a spare throttle body he had, and that fixed it.
So I've noticed on my Civic that my gas pedal is difficult to push down when I first start my car. When it's off, and I push on the gas pedal, it goes down maybe half an inch then seems to get caught forcing me to push down harder. At this point I can hear a small clicking noise as if the pedal itself needs lubricated or something. Once I put in the extra effort, it works fine throughout my whole drive. It's just the beginning part that's starting to annoy me, especially in my residential area where people look at me strange when my car sounds like I'm one of those ******** who speeds around everywhere cause I have to put more force on the pedal.
I did a search and found this post, and was wondering if you guys think this is my problem, or if it's something else.
