Rear crx glass on hatch needs fixn'
So I have a broken rear hatch window. Picked up a new hatch and need to swap it. Tried searching for advice but no luck. Anyone replace this before?
not sure bout the crx but my hatch is only 4 bolts. just when your putting the new one on, line up the body lines as evenly as possible so your seals work, and then tighten down the nuts.
Ya, I wanted to keep the large hatch intact, and only change the shattered piece shown in the pic.. It's the glass that the third brake light shines through.
oohh, i didn't even notice that. lol. when my tail lights were pulled the plastic on the inside of the hatch had to be removed, then little tabs held it on. most of them broke so i'm going to use 3m ****.
I'll take it to a auto glass place and try to get a recommendation. Checking with my repair manual, it's not clear, but it seems like the small section of glass needs to have the seal "cut" out then a new bead of seal laid down. One step at a time, next should be the door seals and window rubber.

im pretty sure youd have to cut through, just as the manual says. should be like the rear hatch itself as well as for the front windshield.
when you replace the quarter moldings youll have to remove the whole quarter glass and get it reinstalled. it cost me 30 a piece for every window for installation and 38 a piece for each quarter molding. well worth the price since it was getting faded and old.
