p13 ecu
So i installed my p13 this weekend.
I also did a valve adjustment the past weekend. i had some idle issues after that valve adj. but fixed it (we used the wrong clearance)
but now, after i installed my p13, i seem to be having some idle issues again.
The ecu came off a 96 vtec prelude, and i have an 01 prelude.
any ideas?
Thanks all!

96 is OBDI or OBDII. I know im using OBDI p13 because i had to use a connection harness.
As I drive it more, it seems to learn my car better. . . but (even though it happens less) it still drops to 0rpm every now and then. BUT also sometimes revives lol and doesnt shut off.
someone recommended to adjust my idle on the TB. seems too much of a band-aid fix. you guys think its a good idea?

1. p13 obd1 = same vtec specs as oe 5th gen
2. i did a manual swap and ran the auto ecu converted to manual, but it didnt feel right
3. doing an obd2 - obd2 swap (converted to REAL manual ecu) through Honda is expensive
4. got the p13 for a good price
worse comes to worst i can reinstall my converted 5th gen ecu. but i think the p13 will pull through

The obd1 ecu is set up for different size injectors. the Obd1 injectors are 345cc the Obd2 are 290cc.
If you run the obd1- 345cc injectors you have to install an injector resistor.

96 is obd2; there is no "either"
92-95 is obd1
Your car should be using either a p5m or a p5p if obd2, and an obd1 p13 if obd1.
It sounds like you have other issues, but I thought I'd just add that.
^^Yea, I was going to say, nothing he is saying is making sense..
If it's an OBDI then it is NOT from a '96 Prelude.
1. Same VTEC Specs?? What about the other differences? i.e. Injector Size/Type?
2. Didn't feel right?? How did it not "feel right?"
3. Why would you go through Honda? Why not just buy a used 5thGen Manual P5M from someone?

96 prelude H22 5 spd ECU part #37820-P13-A12 is in fact an OBD2 unit. Its the only USDM OBD2 H22 ECU that does support Immobobilizer! A rare ECU.

I have a question about the p13???I have a jdm p13 but Im limited at 118 mph would changing my ecu to a usdm help. I heard from another source the jdm ecu are designed for more power but that doesnt seem right. I have a jdm h22a will my harness plug straight in to the usdm?? all help is greatly appreciated. the reason I asked is because I found a usdm p13 for 20 bucks from a friend.
yes the jdm p13 ecu has a governor on there, switchin to the usdm p13 ecu will not limit you to 118.
To the OP do a search on "Idle Bounce" something that might help you out
