GSR transmission seals/ diff. issues
i have a 92 eg hatch with a b18b1 i just recently upgraded 2 the SI tranny but the same problem exists. previously it was leaking out of the driver side axle on the transmission, the axel seal looks fine. it use to have a bogus rear tanny mount but i just fixed this problem by putting in the stock gsr mount.... and i still have this leak, the axle has some minor scratchs from when the differential blew out last time but i used memory cloth and made sure there are no abrasive edges it looks fine, and another part that seems a little funny is that the half shaft doesnt have the split spring that helps lock the axle in the transmission (theres not even a groove for it) like the passenger side axle has. if anyone has any ideas please let me know

Half shaft doesn't need the split ring because the bolts on the carrier bearing keep it from coming out of the transmission.
I would definitely replace that seal, regardless of whether you think it looks okay or not. I _ALWAYS_ replace axle seals whenever I pull a transmission off.

i had the same problem. i was originally gonna use da axles on my b20 swap so i bought a da oil seal to go with it(btw this was on a lsd gsr tranny, and using dc2 axles now) it leaked alot of oil. so i went to acura and got a gsr oil seal and it fixed the leak.
ok ill go ahead and get the new seal, but in the case that it still leaks is there any other suggestions? like i said the half shaft has some small cuts/scratches in the part that meets the seal but i did use memory cloth and took any sharp/abrasive edges off

So you're using a B16 tranny with your B18B engine? Could there be a difference in the diameter of the half shaft where it goes into the differential? Maybe the inner part of your half shaft is too small or something.

sup man im having this issue to affter replacing my clutchg.
the transmission fluid is leaking out of the driver side axle where it meets the tranny and the oil seal.
its your intermediate shaft. it isn't sealing around the hole tight enough or properly, and when driving it opens a millimeter enough to spray/drip fluid everywhere.
im currently trying to fix this problem on my 95 teg, I've changed 2 oil seals and i noticed one time pushed the seal in too far that's why it was leaking one time, but the other time i bent the little cup on the end of the shaft that covers tightly to the tranny. im gonna buy a new intermediate shaft and see if this fixes.

M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM 2 IDK KNOW IF I GOT THE RIGHT SIZE OR I INSTALLED IT RIGHT IT LEAKS ALOT WHILE IM DRIVING DOES ANY BODY KNOW THE YSK-1 tranny size holla at if any body knows
OLD thread but is it possible that my axle is losing motor oil coming out of my axle seal? i have a small oil leak and noticed the only place wet with oil is from my driverside axle that connects to tranny(could this be why i am losing motor oil?)

Engine oil? lol no the oil in the engine block does not mix with the transmission. If your oil shows low on the dipstick then it's coming from somewhere else.
