Hi guys,

What would cause your gear to pop out. Happening to a friends eg9. When he shifts into 3rd and fourth it would pop out of gear. It doesn't do it all the time. Was just wondering what it could be.

 

from personal experience id say the shift fork is bent/cracked/out of adjustment. something with the shift fork is my guess. i know of a 93 Si that has started grinding going into 4th, and i know of a 97 EX that lost 4th and grinds into 3rd.

3-4 share a shift fork so when you have a problem that affects both gears, its a pretty good bet that its the fork.
