I have a 1996 Honda accord I was in cruise control and the car kept accelerating and started to red line. It went past 80mph and I finally had to pull over and put it in neutral and turn the car off. When i started it back up it continued to keep accelerating. I pulled the fuse and it stopped any ideas I have no idea what would cause this. Thanks

 

So it immediately revs up when you start the car, or only when you engage the cruise control?

 

It wouldn't disengage from cruise until i pulled the fuse. So when i turned it off and then started it it was still in cruise. It is out now but only because the fuse is not in it. It would not stop revving only when it cruise it just kept going faster and faster until i put it in neutral, but it only did it once and when i was in cruise control. It did immediately rev up though right away.

 

Did you ever figure out your problem? I have something similar in my 93.
