Default DA fan issue?

i have an auto DA with 185k on it. since ive had the car everytime i shut the car off and remove the key within a few moments the fan will kick on. everytime even if not hot. what can i do to fix this i bought a radiator fan switch for the back of the block. is that right? it is the fan on the drivers side and everything except for a cold air intake is stock. any help is appreciated

It might be a problem with the fan timer control, or fan control unit, I am unsure of the exact name. But it is located under the passenger side dash and is a small box about 2"x3" its held on by one or two 10mm bolts. But it should be the culprit since it controls the fans after the car has been switched off.

But G2IC.com has a lot of thread on cooling fan issues, you might wanna head over there and do a search.

my prelude and my DA both do this every now and then...its not really a big deal tho unless you have a real shitty battery..
but that is what the "electric fans my start at any time sticker is for"

i want it to just run when its supposed to and not on a switch. pretty much jus wanna replace whatever is broke or not working properly. my d. side seat belt has been acting up also it will go forward only if the door is shut and the key is out. if u leave the key in and open the door it will stay back. if you take it out it will come forward but aas soon as you open the door it stops

not really want to suggest that these two are related, but the seatbelt sounds like a ground problem.

you dont have to, over time grounds can come loose or corrode.

Mine goes on sometimes too.. to temporary fix it, just turn the key to acc switch then off and the fan should shut off.. mine does.

As someone posted.. go over to G2IC.com, there are tons of threads about the fan switch and such...
