Buying a used Integra, what to look out for?
hi guys,
I always wanted to have an Integra, so I decided to go for it, but I have a few questions.
I have set my eye on one, in a Honda garage, it's in good shape from what i can tell at first sight.
It has 122.000 kms, but they say the motor got revised at 116.000 kms.
Ofcourse they say it's all ok, and it was only done because the previous owner asked for it, but that could be sales talk.
Why would anyone revise a motor at only 116.000 kms? Is that ok?
And also, after 6000 kms it's put on sale. Would that mean something is wrong?
Also, is it still worth getting an Integra, i mean it's been 10 years..., I dont know how well they stand the test of time. Where should I check for rust, and things like that?
Thanks in advance!

Find out what they "revised" on the engine. Honda engines usually don't need to be rebuilt after 116 000 kms
Look for rust around the rear wheel wells.

Thx guys, any major parts that will need replacement soon?
Also, the way I see it, usually high performance parts are short-lived, and not really made for endurance, any idea how well the 1.8L engine will/would still cope after 11-12 years?

Check the oil, coolant, if you can get a compression/leakdown test. Check the tires, check to make sure it tracks straight.
Revised? Maybe they did the timing belt and water pump. Ask them exactly what they did.
Hondas are pretty reliable even when modified. The usual bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust, aftermarket clutch maybe) I wouldn't worry about as they won't affect much. I would only worry if the car had some sort of forced induction on it (turbo, supercharger or even nitrous) and then removed so it could be sold.
Also try to avoid something owned by a younger person, chances are the car has been rode hard and put away wet.

I requested a short story for a title.
