Default My ek with gsr overheating...

Well it started yesterday at a fast food drive thru. My temp started going up. It went to about 3/4 or so, so I shut her up. Now I'm concerned as to what the hell ois going on? Has new water pump and radiator. Fan is old but it turns on. I tried doing the bypass trick and it turned on. Reservoir tank is full to where I left it. And no visible leaks.

The fan itself might be okay but its sensor might be busted. Try replacing it, shouldn't be too expensive if you don't buy from a stealership. I had the same on my old Mazda 323, every time I stopped for a longer while with the engine on temps shot up, and it was a busted fan temp sensor.

Well I guess I can try that. But according to the guy we traded cars with(before it was totalled and transfered to my ek, long story) he replaced the water pump and fan switch brand new oem honda. The T belt also. So I'm stumped. I had a previous over heating issue but it was my radiator leaking. Fixed that. What are the chances that my temp sensor(sender unit) can be bad?

Have you thought about your T stat being stuck open/closed?
Does your heat work?

Really haven't tried if the heater works. And I did notice the lower rad hose being less hot than upper. But he also replaced that with the t belt etc. Honda oem also. But I guess I can try and replace it. Also there is this hose that is a little wet. Maybe its damaged. The one that goes from TB to the upper head housing. But I'm curious as to one thing. For some reason that hose is 2 pieces. And there is this plastic thibg in between. Is this OEM or was this a mickey mouse?

if you tstat is stuck close you will over heat. take a look at that. do you have funky idle? maybe your coolant isnt bled right. just open the cap start the car and fill the radiator up while it's running.

Well the heater works. As for the t stat I'm unaware if it was replaced. I will ask him. And as for the lower hose? I never said anything about replacing the lower hose....LoL. Its only done it once. And only while steady. But I noticed that I didn't hear the fan. But I know it works.

Also maybe I'm leaking from that one hose but no one has answered to me about that hose being OEM or not? I drive my car a lot about 110 miles or more. Mon- fri. So the last thing I want is to be stranded somewhere!

Actually I was refering to the fan switch. Sorry.the only thing I noticed is that the hose(TB to upper rad house) comes loose if I just pull it. Maybe somehow it was a little loose and I didn't notice. But yet no one can confirm if that hose comes like that from honda or if thi is a mickey mouse?

If the t-stat is stuck closed it won't trigger the fan switch, it happened to a couple people on here about a week ago.
