Default Is it possible to remove spray-painted stripes from stock paint?

Now that I've got my 91 hatch running tip-top, the dorky spray-painted stripes have to go. There are 2 of them about 2 inches wide, 1 running down each side. Everything else that had been painted to match the damn stripes has been painted or replaced. If I can remove it and leave the factory paint I'd be surprised, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows of something that might do it.

well there are a few ways you can go.

you can try to remove them using thinner. put some on a rag and wipe it off, or you can sand them out, sand them off with some 800 grit carefully and then step up to 1000 and then1500, then 2000 then buff. if you never buffed a car i wouldnt try this you might be able to find a body shop to cut and buff the car for you.

i wouldnt even touch it with any sandpaper...Its a 91 jeeezzz...
Try wat dc5r said bout the thinner on a rag, if its spraypaint it should wipe off without too much effort and should leave the paint in pretty decent condition
Just polish your paint afterwards and a nice coat of wax to put on some protection for your paint!!!
